Exploring enabling mechanisms to kick off and scale up Nature-Based Solutions from a public authority perspective
An EU Green Week partner event, organised by SEACURE
This partner event will bring together a public debate on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) for soil and water quality improvement, opening a dialogue with representatives of local and regional authorities on the governance conditions that have enabled NBS adoption in practice, and on how decision-makers have moved from initial consultation to actual implementation.
The debate will look into the experiences of early adopters to better understand the steps, enabling factors and challenges involved in moving NBS from concept to deployment. Through an open and interactive discussion, the event will explore the adoption of NBS from a governance perspective, gathering insights on key barriers and practical ways to overcome them. Invited speakers will include practitioners and public authorities from across Europe with hands-on experience in implementing NBS to improve soil and water quality, with a particular focus on addressing nutrient pollution linked to agricultural activities.
Participation is open to all actors interested in facilitating the adoption of NBS, as well as to those who have already implemented them and wish to share their experience. By fostering a constructive dialogue between early adopters and newcomers, the event aims to fast-track the adoption process through an interactive and meaningful discussion from start to end.
